Caroline is one of the most experienced members of the Sarasota County School Board. She has established herself as an advocate during her ten-years on the School Board, serving from 1992-2000 & 2006-2008. Her success is grounded in visionary leadership, a wealth of experience and knowledge of the community, and as a passionate advocate on behalf of Sarasota’s students. Caroline states, “I am a proven leader and hope to continue to do my work where it is needed most, on the Sarasota County School Board. I will fight to provide an education that will prepare our children to successfully compete in an increasingly global economy by closing the achievement gap, improving graduation rates and lowering dropout rates so students graduate with employability skills ready for college or the workforce. I will work to achieve conservative fiscal accountability.” Caroline’s success lies in her ability to work with a variety of people and build consensus. Florida’s funding formula is unique in the United States – there is no other state like it. As an advocate for best practices for education – she knows that systemic changes will continue to be needed to move the educational system forward. “My experience as a corporate business manager, business owner, community volunteer and grandmother has given me a strong foundation from which to make decisions and advocate for our students,” states Caroline. “WHY NOW?”
